If you want something fun to do with your children this Easter that also benefits a local charity, the Journey of Hope Grief Support Center , then this is the event for you! This year it's being held on Saturday March 27 from 9am - 11am.

Before letting your kids go on the egg hunt and fill up on candy, it’s always good to start with breakfast! Luckily, that’s what “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” begins with!

EasterBunnyCheckIn-.gifCheck in is easy at the check-in table. You are greeted by friendly volunteers wearing their signature purple “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” logo t-shirts, topped off by their Bunny Ears!

If you did not have a reserved table, you can find a spot with open seating. Put your things down and help yourself to the yummy buffet. This year it included Waffles, sausage, lots of crispy bacon, fresh fruit, pastries and croissants plus juice, milk and coffee. Talk about a great selection for those hungry egg-hunters! We have been to several breakfast events, but my husband always says this one is the best breakfast around - and he loves breakfast!

Every 30 minutes there was an Egg Hunt in a nice grassy lawn spot. (Last Easter it was very cold so you'll see the kids all wearing coats in the photo!) Small braided baskets were available for children who did not bring their baskets so they too could participate in the egg hunts. To avoid trampling the littler ones by the older kids, the age groups were separated out – 0-2 yrs first, then 3-5 year olds next. And parents don’t despair, to avoid a total sugar overload not all eggs were filled with candy. Many eggs were filled with Easter stickers, erasers or other small trinkets.

If you are looking for Bunny Photos, you’re in luck! You had two choices for Bunny Photos! The first option was Build-A-Bear who was back this year with their Girl Bunny who happily posed for photos. The Bunny was present during the Egg Hunt and placed lots more eggs onto the grounds. A Build-A-Bear representative captured the memory for you with a Polaroid photo enclosed in a signature photo jacket.

Option two was Photos with Live Bunnies. In a safe, gated, “corralled” area volunteers kept watch and guided the traffic flow for families to take their children's photos with live bunnies. The bunnies were cooperative, but scampered around from time to time as bunnies do! Festive springtime colors were used for props this year.

If that isn’t enough to keep your child occupied, the Junior League of Plano scored again BwEB-NapkinCraft-.gif with fun crafts for the kids. They always come up with such inventive crafts and have “service with a smile” as they help your little ones master the crafts.  They really do an outstanding job orchestrating and staffing this event!

Back by popular demand, I’m sure, was the cookie decorating craft. Sugar cookies were supplied for the little ones to “glob on” the icing and top it off with sprinkles of all shapes and colors. That was my son’s favorite craft, for sure because he could eat it! Other crafts included coloring Easter bags, making spring flower baskets, painting on napkins, jelly bean photo frames and more!

For the parents there was a silent auction including great prizes like spa days, gift certificates from local retailers, vacation get-aways and more! All excellent and tempting prizes! And money raised from both the auction and event BwEB-Parent-.gifhelp support a great local charity!

If every adult didn’t walk away with a silent auction  prize, every child walked away with a complimentary goody bag filled with treats, their souvenir eggs and crafts. And every child and adult has Easter memories to cherish spending time with their families.

Reserve your spot by singing up online using the link above or Sign up for FREE TICKETS! NEW this year - we're giving away tickets to a lucky family!
