Find out where you can give to those in time of need this year. Many local food pantries and shelters are accepting donations now more than ever this holiday season. With the current state of our economy, helping others is even more important and appreciated by those on the receiving end.
Find out where you can make holiday donations this year whether monetary or providing canned goods or other items to the North Texas Food Bank, Frisco Family Services, Allen Community Outreach, the Samaritan Inn or other local outreach services.

The deadline for registering to receive toys is Friday, 12/04/20. Distribution will be on Wednesday, 12/16/20 ONLY, at First United Methodist Church, 601 S. Greenville Ave., Allen TX 75002.
You will receive an email by Monday, 12/14/20 with your scheduled pickup time.(In order to pick up your toys, please provide photo ID of the person completing the application.) A SEPARATE form must be completed for EACH CHILD. You will receive an email of your sign-up information.

Even though we can’t do our huge Candy Canes For Kids event this year, the kids served by Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County still need our help! Help us help kids right here in Collin County that have been abused or neglected.
Join us for a Candy Canes For Kids Drive Thru Toy Drive presented by Credit Union of Texas and benefitting Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County. We’ll be collecting new unwrapped toys and donations to benefit children served by CACCC. Enjoy caroling with the Goode Time Carolers and car selfies with your favorite characters in the drive up line. Catch up with celebrity toy collectors including Frank Reed, Hudson and Bonnie Curry from KLTY Radio, Town of Fairview Mayor Henry Lessner, Former Allen Americans Goalie Riley Gill, and more. The first 500 vehicles to drop off a toy or donation valued at $25 or more will receive a FREE reusable bag! Dallas women’s healthcare home, Charleston House, is offering a helping hand to local family violence agency, The Family Place, this holiday season.During the month of December, Charleston House welcomes the community to drop off items
The Family Place is in need of to their East Dallas office. Items needed include twin sheets, twin blankets, pillows, bath towels, wash cloths, kitchen utensils, can openers, and crib sheets. Donation items serve as a vital role for the women, children, and men who often give up everything to flee for safety. Monetary donations are also welcome. Donations can be dropped off at the address above.

Each year, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County's annual Holiday Project ensures that abused and neglected children served by our Center have a happy holiday. Because of the generosity of our community, hundreds of children receive holiday gifts each year.

Drop a Toy or Coat in the Christmas Cops Box Make someone’s holiday special by dropping donated items in a Christmas Cops box. On Friday, Nov. 8, collection boxes will be placed around the city. Fill boxes with nonperishable food, unwrapped new toys and new coats. Or, go big and host an item drive or an Angel Tree.
For 35 years, Plano Police employees and officers have delivered these donated items to local families in need. Other items to give include: · Baby diapers, formula (powdered), blankets and toys · Batteries (all sizes) · Teenage boy/girl items · Educational toys, games, books and videos · Bicycles and tricycles · CD and MP3 players · Portable game systems and games

Help the Frisco Police Department and the Frisco Fire Department make it a happy holiday for Frisco children in need. With the help of WFAA’s Santa’s Helpers, we’re collecting new, unwrapped toys through December 7th. So while you’re holiday shopping, consider buying a toy or two. Donations will be distributed by Frisco Family Services.

How You Can Help:
Sponsor a child, teen, parent or senior. Each one of our gift "ornaments" represents a single new and unused gift for either a child, a teen, a parent, or a senior.
Make a financial contribution to FFS in support of the program.Provide gift cards/certificates, new clothes and new toys for children of all ages or gifts for teens, parents and seniors.
Fill a stocking with goodies such as candy, toothbrush, toothpaste, chapstick, coloring books, stickers, games, etc., for a child, teen, or senior. Stockings donated by the Frisco Quilt Guild will be provided.
Host a Holiday Drive for specific items such as teen gifts, new coats, gloves, hats, household items, etc.

Frisco Square is proud to partner again with Operation Once in a Lifetime (OOIAL), a military non-profit group that helps make the dreams of U.S. Soldiers and their families come true. During the holiday season, OOIAL Toys for Troops drive helps military families provide a good Christmas for their children. The Toys for Troops Drive will run November 15 through December 17, 2020 in Frisco Square.

Metrocare is the largest provider of mental health services in North Texas, serving more than 57,000 adults and children annually. For almost 50 years, Metrocare has provided an array of services including behavioral health services, primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research, we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County.
The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a top-ranked nonprofit relief organization, providing access to more than 200,000 meals each day for hungry children, seniors and families across a 13-county service area. In our last fiscal year, NTFB and our feeding network provided access to nearly 77 million meals.

With the help of the community, Operation Kindness alongside the Humane Society of North Texas, Irving Animal Services, Fort Worth Animal Care and Dallas Animal Services ensures that homeless animals in North Texas have everything they need to feel warm, cozy and safe this winter. As a multi-citywide collaboration, Operation Kindness joins other North Texas animal shelters to host the Comfort and Joy Donation Drive. Donations of blankets, toys, treats and canned food will go toward helping animals in need until they find a loving, responsible home.
Needed items include:· Clean and washed blankets, new or gently worn (no fringe or decorative items on the blankets)· Canned dog and kitten food·
For dogs: Durable dog toys including rubber toys such as Nylabone® and Kong®-type products, rope and woven toys·
For cats: Plastic toys, small toys that can be swatted. No toys with small parts or choking hazards such as strings and yarn

store support our mission of ‘Feeding and Sheltering’ the homeless. The store
will also allow the SoupMobile to provide jobs to residents of SoupMobile
Village and homeless people looking for employment opportunities.

The Frisco Police Department will also be collecting non-perishable items to be sent to military units actively serving overseas. Items may be dropped in the donation box located near the front lobby doors at the Frisco Police Department. Frisco Police are collecting: foot powder, high-quality socks, solid color beanies, hand warmers, beef jerky, slim jims, protein bars, and gum.

Denton County Friends of the Family (DCFOF) is now accepting donations for its annual Thanksgiving Drive. As the only agency in Denton County to provide emergency shelter for victims of violence and sexual assault, the DCFOF will look to put together 600 Thanksgiving meals for mothers and their children affected by these unfortunate circumstances. The DCFOF is seeking a variety of donations, including $10 gift cards to Walmart or Kroger, pumpkin pie mix, cranberry sauce, canned fruits and vegetables, mashed potatoes, cornbread mix, paper plates, and so much more.

Through generous groups and individuals, Frisco Family Services is able to provide each family we serve with a turkey and everything needed to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal; something many would go without during a crisis or financial hardship.
The goal for this program is to provide families in need or in crisis everything to prepare a special Thanksgiving meal as well as spend quality time together. This past year FFS distributed 364 meals to 885 individuals (299 families).
How You Can Help: Donate completed Thanksgiving Meal Boxes. Make a financial contribution or donate grocery store gift cards. These can be used to purchase turkeys, milk, butter, and eggs, bacon, and orange juice. Donate Tom Thumb Community Bucks or free turkey coupons from your local grocery store. Bells are ringing at NorthPark to encourage visitors to donate their spare change through the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, which raises crucial funds for year-round programs at more than a dozen Salvation Army centers in North Texas. Digital giving options are also available.
The Samaritan Inn is more than just a place to spend the night. It is a comprehensive program that teaches self-sufficiency and life skills to meet the needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness. We help willing people gain dignity and independence. On average, we have approximately 160 residents living at the Inn, a third of which are children.

The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October - December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.

To make the holidays special for the men and women serving our country, Watters Creek donates Christmas trees to the Trees for Troops program on behalf of the Allen Community. Help share the spirit and stop by the Trees for Troops tent to write a note of appreciation for a service member or family.
Watters Creek continues to abide by CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19. Customers are asked to wear masks, abide by social distancing, and sanitize using one of many hand-sanitizer stations while at the center.
