'Disney on Ice - Dare to Dream' is a dream come true for every little girl. There is no doubt about that! And if you haven’t been to a “Disney on Ice” show yet, it’s something to see! As you can imagine, having the Disney name on it, it is spectacular!
The costumes were brightly colored and perfectly matched to the characters - and with so many princesses in the show just beautiful. There’s lots of action and plenty of singing & music to keep the kids’ attention – even the littler ones.
The show started out with a greeting from the traditional Disney hosts – Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald and Goofy and they also appeared through out the show.
Basically what Disney does is a shortened version of their stories. Three of them were featured: 'The Frog Princess', 'Cinderella' and 'Tangled'. They were all beautifully done, but Tangled was definitely the highlight, with Finn and Rapunzel flying through the air on her 'hair' and with the lanterns. Nothing though could beat the horse Maximus with two skaters inside of him ;-).
You'll see many of those light-up toys for sale & see them twinkling & whirring throughout the show. Be prepared to spend some money on toys because there's tons of them for sale or "lay down the law" before and tell your child the rules of souvenir purchase or non-purchase.
The intermission has good timing. Kids can get wiggly after drinking all
their drinks. It’s always good to get out and stretch, go to the rest
room and but be prepared to walk by the souvenirs.
The American Airlines Center always has plenty of options for snacks or
dinner if you didn't get to eat before you go. Everything from pizza to
nachos to hotdogs and popcorn. The show ended with some small fireworks - after all it's Disney!
MOMS TIP: Even before you enter the building, you see a lot of little princesses on the way there. Little girls love to go dressed up for this show. So if your daughter has princess dress up clothes ...
If your boy likes these movies, he will enjoythe show, but if he has already lost interest in them and only wants to see Thomas the Tank Engine, you might want to let him stay home for this one.
Enjoy the show!
